From the moment you arrive at the Ceilidh House by the Sea, you will feel the stress melt away as you breathe in the fresh ocean air and watch the most beautiful sunsets. The home is equipped with everything you need to have the best vacation possible while experiencing life on the ocean. Special features includes a private beach, lots of room for outdoor play, an outdoor shower, and use of a Wood Fired Hot Tub (additional fee).
Our private lot is over 2 acres, and is home to beautiful shore and other birds including Blue Herons, Eagles and Sandpipers. Depending on the season, you'll see a family of seals play in the water in front of the property, and you may even see a school of porpoises or pilot whales swim by.
Our oceanfront post and beam home has 3 bedrooms and boasts an open concept main floor overlooking the ocean. There is lots of room to prepare wonderful meals, get cozy, or just sit back and listen to the waves and watch the most incredible sunsets. There are two bedrooms (1 king and 1 double) and bathroom on the main floor, and a large loft bedroom (2 queen) upstairs.
Bring along your kayaks, paddleboard or canoe that you can launch right from our beach. There is an also a wharf and boat launch ten minutes away. Our beach is somewhat rocky so bring along your water shoes, or head over to Blue Rocks, our private community sand beach that is only a 2 minute drive or 10 minute walk away.
Ceilidh House by the Sea is located in Cape Jack, only 2 hours from the Halifax airport, minutes to Cape Breton, and close to beautiful beaches with the warmest waters north of the Carolinas (water temps reach the mid-20s in the summer)
We can help plan your east coast adventure including suggested daily itineraries, best places for golf, swimming, beachcombing, hiking and east coast music. And we can help arrange lobster boils, boat cruises and ebike rentals.
We have a number of weeks this summer available to rent on a weekly basis, from June to September.

Wood Fired Cedar Hot Tub
Imagine sitting in the Hot Tub as you listen to the waves and gaze at the stars above. You’ll be sure to see shooting stars and maybe even the Aurora Borealis. The Wood Fired Hot Tub does not have jets making it a very peaceful and unique experience. While easy to operate, the Hot Tub requires firewood and daily maintenance to ensure a safe and fun experience. The cost to use the Wood Fired Hot Tub during your stay is $200 for the week, instructions and wood will be provided to you.
We also welcome your pets (up to 2) for an additional fee of $100/week.
